“Supplier Spotlight” January 2008

Happy New Year and welcome to the second edition of Georgia Tech’s “Supplier Spotlight”.  One small business is featured on Georgia Tech’s Supplier Diversity website each month.  We welcome your recommendations for small businesses that we should feature for future articles.   

January’s edition of “Supplier Spotlight” features locally based, Facility Supply Group (FSG).  FSG’s product line includes over 60,000 product types, such as, office and janitorial supplies, lighting, motors, power tools, material handling, safety and personal protection supplies.  FSG also carries a full line of office furniture, from desks to school lockers.  Through strategic contract partnerships with Corporate-Express and Grainger, FSG provides competitively priced products and free-next day shipping to clients nationally.  FSG also has a service division that provides national janitorial cleaning services.

In 1991, John W. Fowler, Chairman and CEO of Facility Supply Group created a business plan to start a home-based business that has blossomed into what it is today—a minority owned and operated business.

• FSG is headquartered in Roswell, GA and has offices in New York, NY and Montgomery, AL.
• FSG services clients at 11 sites in 7 states.
• FSG has full accreditation in the Better Business Bureau’s local listing.  They are also a certified Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) with the National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC) through the Georgia Minority Supplier Development Council (GMSDC). 
• FSG is registered with the Small Business Administration’s database and is in the Federal Contractor Central Registry (CCR).
• FSG has been awarded business from Georgia Tech for furniture and they are working with several departments, on potential green solutions.
